Ola Lola’s is located on the border between Isabela and Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. It’s a hidden gem – off the main roads and tucked into a lovely rustic area of green foliage, flowers and palm trees. Once people find it - both locals and tourists, they love coming back. And our location is prime because we are not only a 2-minute walk down a path to the beach but also on the only road that leads to such tourist attractions and accommodations such as Villa Tropical, Villa Montaña, Tropical Trail Rides, and The Blue Hole at Shacks.
Another factor unique to our location is a year-long tradewinds, out of the east. This means – with daily temperatures ranging from a low of mid-60s to a high of mid-90s, that the climate is unparalleled for an outdoor lifestyle. Ten minutes (but out of the air traffic pattern) from Ola Lola’s is the Rafael Hernandez International Airport (BQN) with both passenger and freight flights daily to the U.S. and Europe.
The Isabela/Aguadilla area has seen a recent boom in economic growth with businesses such as Lufthansa Technik, Axon/CSC Puerto Rico, Infotec, InfoSys and Honeywell bringing in hundreds of new jobs over the past year. Puerto Rico Ley 20 of 2012, which offers a 4% corporate tax rate and 100% tax exemption on dividends from export services businesses, has stimulated growth in these and other companies.
Shopping and service providers are easily accessible from our location. Grocery stores, hardware, pharmacy, and big name retailers such as Walmart and Marshalls are all within 20 minutes or less of Ola Lola’s. Excellent schools and service providers (auto repair, hair/nail salons, mail/shipping services, etc.) are all within an easy drive. A variety of restaurant and eating options in all price ranges are also close by, ranging from the Aguadilla Food Truck park five minutes up the hill to full service cocktails and world-class fine dining at La Casa in Royal Isabela.
Our personal favorite amenity in the area is the variety of beaches, hikes and beautiful coastline that prevail. There are no fewer than 10 fabulous beaches that are all within a 20-minute range. Snorkeling is unparalleled in this area, as is diving (shore diving with no need for a boat). Stand-up paddleboarding, golfing, yoga, tai chi, and bike rides or runs on the paseo lineo (a 5-mile boardwalk along the coastline of Isabela) are all ways people enjoy staying fit and being outdoors. Horseback riding on the beach is another wonderful experience, as is hiking to see waterfalls and caves. And, in the winter months, this area is alive with people from all parts of the globe enjoying some great surfing. On any given day you can either find a secluded beach “away from it all” or a place to socialize having fun in the sun.
